Day 3: Strasburg France

On our second day here we travelled to Strasburg in France, which is only a half hour train ride from Offenburg. While walking to the bus station we ran into someone from Laura’s village and were offered a ride to the train station. Its lovely to be in a village where everyone knows everyone. At the station we met Laura’s friends Anna and Antoine who were travelling with us for the day. When we arrived in Strasburg we browsed through the books being sold in the square. It was interesting to look at all the French comics even if I couldn’t understand them. Afterwards we found the cathedral. While we waited for it to open we looked through the terrible postcards being sold.

Later on we made our way to a park for a picnic we had packed. We ate overlooking the beautiful buildings and rivers, with pigeons trying to steal our food. Because we had been out side all day we were a little cold (even though it was a beautiful sunny day) so we went into a café for drinks. I saw Nutella milkshakes on the menu and had no choice but to order one even though I was already full. Before heading home we went shopping for clothes. Laura and I bought blue and white striped sailor shirts for our boat hostel in Ghent this weekend.
