A Week of Cooking

This week somehow turned into a week full of themed dinners, often with me helping to plan the menu. Last weekend Laura went on a weekend trip so I made her a picnic dinner for her return on sunday night when all the grocery stores were closed. Because I'm not too creative I ended up cutting up tons of fruit and making a salad... a vegetarians dream right?

This tuesdays mentor dinner was hosted by Ellaisha, Jochem, Jiri, and me. Jiri planned to make some tomato and bean concoction and I decided we must have an easter themed desert. As un unusual turn of events I actually ended up going to the party at Carpe Diem afterwards, which was very lucky for the drunk people I kept safe. Other than that the party was fun. I'm feeling as though I need to stop skipping them since there are only a few left.

Our wednesday dinner took a bit of a spin this week. Koko offered to join us and teach us to make sushi. The Facebook group of our event expanded, and around 25 people ended up showing up for dinner.  It turns out sushi isn't actually that hard to make as long as you have
the right ingredients. The sushi itself was rather tasty as well!

This year I will be spending Easter away from my family (and my country) so I decided that if I can't have easter dinner at home than I will make it at school. I invited some friends (Jessica, Ellaisha, Renata, and Marta) and created a menu. I made sure to bring lots of chocolate easter eggs and even bought an egg dying kit. After everyone left to catch the bus for the Berlin trip Jessica and I stayed and painted easter eggs.

Easter Dinner Menu:
Chicken wrapped in bacon
Red smashed potatoes with creme fraiche
Maple glazed carrots
Green beans with toasted almonds
Devilled eggs
