On another note, there has been a lot of progress on my summer plans. My term at Tilburg ends on June 20th, but I bought a plane ticket back to Canada for July 25th, thinking it was necessary that I be in Europe for my birthday. At the time I just assumed I would be able to find a travelling companion or face it alone. Up until now I was still without a partner. Just a few days ago my close friend from home Mishaela bought a round trip plane ticket from Vancouver to Amsterdam to join me for the first 2 weeks of my travels! Here begins many long Skype sessions in order to plan our route and every last detail. We have a rough idea of where we would like to go including Copenhagen, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest.
Once Mishaela leaves on July 6th, I plan to meet up with my friend Jessica from Singapore to continue travelling. We hope to visit Croatia, Italy and Greece. Later in July once Jessica has met up with her family, I hope to spend some time with Laura in Germany (including my birthday).
One last exciting bit of news in my life is that my ticket to Vancouver to see Mishaela in August has been purchased! (as a birthday present from my parents). I will be spending two weeks being a tourist in a Canadian city I have never visited. So even though Mishaela is moving back home to Vancouver in a week, we will be spending more time together than ever!
