The semester is quickly coming to an end and with the first couple
people having already gone home, we are all becoming a bit emotional (and maybe
a little clingy) Two nights last week a group of us got together late at night
to watch a movie and cuddle. The first night we watched Willy Wonka (a movie
Laura and I had been planning to watch for months now) with Jessica, Ellaisha,
Laura and Andrea. The next night Ellaisha, Jessica, Marta, Andrea, Renata and I
watched She’s the man all cuddled in Ellaisha’s bed.
Last Mentor Dinner
This Tuesday was the very last mentor dinner of the semester. The
theme was “white t-shirt party” in which you wear a white shirt that everyone
else writes messages on. We were told it would also be the last Tuesday night
party so I decided it was necessary that I actually go out (only to find out
the next day that they added another party this week). Being the last party
most people decided to just go wild and get even more drunk than usual which
made for an interesting night for the sober observers like myself. I decided to
put my keys in Laura’s bag to avoid the chance of them being lost should
someone accidentally take my coat with them by mistake. But to my dismay Laura
forgot she had them and left without me. Too bad she waved at me without me
noticing! About a half hour after she left Koko and I decided to bike home. Realizing
my keys (to both my bike, flat, and room) were gone I decided the best solution
was to just run home beside Koko’s bike. Lucky for us we ran into a nice Dutch
boy who gave Koko a ride on the back of his bike, leaving me with the world’s
smallest bike. Arriving home to find Laura still awake to return my keys was
the perfect end to a strange night.
Lake Street Drive Concert
The other day when talking to Frances she mentioned to me that a band
she really likes would be coming to Den Haag but she had no one to go with. I
decided I loved their music and we planned to take the trip together with
Raischa and Maria Paulo. I took a train from Tilburg University station and
they left from the Central Station with a plan to meet up in Breda on the way.
Sadly my train to Breda never showed and I had to wait an extra 20 minutes to
leave. This was one of those rare
moments from the past few months where I regretted not getting a cell phone in
the Netherlands. Thankfully they were waiting for me at the train station in
Den Haag. We went to a slightly upscale restaurant near the concert venue and
enjoyed large plates of tacos. The concert was amazing, the band sounds even
better live than they do on CD.
Thursday Night dinner and Games
Saturday Afternoon Sun
Saturday was the day after our Gala, the final big event of i*esn. Needless to say most people didn’t wake up before at least noon (some sleeping until four…) A large group of us spent the afternoon lounging in the sun outside verbs (with most people trying to get over their hangovers from the previous evening)
