Tuesday: Second Last mentor dinner
Tuesday was our second last mentor dinner of the semester (and also happened to be Liam’s birthday). A party was held for Liam on the same floor as our dinner, so the floor was packed. Liam had promised to let everyone cut his hair for his birthday so by the end of the night he was completely bald. After the dinner I visited with Ellaisha and Rena for a bit before heading to bed. Even though it may not seem like it, I do still have school over here, and had a midterm on Friday to study for the next day.

Wednesday dinner
This Wednesday I ate with Jiri, and Laura of course. Dominika and Éadaoin joined us for the first time. We made creamy spinach pasta and a spinach salad with feta cheese and strawberries (my contribution). This week Jessica was in Czech Republic and couldn't join.

Carpe Dinner
This Friday was our very last Carpe Dinner. I try not to think too much about the semester ending soon, but this was definitely a big reminder. Being the last dinner it sold out incredibly fast (a big contrast to last week with just the seven of us). The theme of this dinner was “USA Southern Night” consisting of mac and cheese, ribs, fried chicken, potatoes, corn, coleslaw, and cherry pie. We ended up staying late and I got a chance to try out the DJ booth, even if my music choices weren’t completely appreciated.

Eurovision

This Saturday evening was the Eurovision finals. Eurovision is an even more ridiculous version of shows like American Idol. Each European country enters one band/singer to compete, with each act even stranger than the last. A group of us got together to watch and cheer on our countries. Being Canadian I chose to cheer for the Netherlands, the European country I relate to most. Being exhausted from traveling all day I fell asleep through half of it and awoke to find Austria won (the act included a bearded lady). While flipping through the channels an ABBA documentary was found and I was distracted and spent the next 45 minutes watching it with two others while everyone left for a different floor to party.
