Various Forms of Family Dinners

Emanuel’s Sushi Birthday
On Monday night after a day of travelling home from Spain we met at Jiri’s house for a (somewhat) surprise birthday for Emanuel. We once again made homemade sushi, and Laura and Jiri made a cake for Emanuel. The house was covered in birthday balloons and a birthday sign (in Dutch of course). After dinner everyone sang happy birthday in his or her own language (including: English, German, Czech, Japanese, and Italian). We stayed until well past midnight talking and relaxing before heading back to verbs.

Happy Birthday Emanuel!

Wednesday Dinner
Wednesday was of course another Wednesday dinner. This week it was Laura, Jessica, Andrea, and Ellaisha who joined, with Celeste visiting but not eating. We made asparagus with hollandaise sauce, potatoes, garlic bread, and homemade minestrone soup.

 I*esn Ladies Night

On Thursday night i*esn planned a ladies and a men’s night for its members. Not many girls showed up to the event but there was definitely some “interesting” entertainment that I may have been better off not seeing. Afterwards we met up with the men who had apparently been drinking and smoking all night. I arrived home around 2am to find the remnants of a verbs party and some friends hanging around verbs to chat with. Due to this I didn't end up asleep until 4am.

Carpe Dinner
Friday night was the second last carpe dinner of the year! In a month some people will start going home. This dinner was very intimate as only 7 people signed up, with the cooks there were 11 of us altogether. We had wraps, mushroom risotto and peach cobbler.
