Vienna Austria Day 1

Our bus left from Prague to Vienna at 10:30 on Monday morning. Jiri and his roommate took us to the bus station and said goodbye. I wont be sad about leaving though because he promised that he would come to my party in Germany at the end of July! Thankfully we used a Eurolines bus this time and it was ready and waiting when we arrived. The ride was uneventful, but the view was pretty great with many small villages, countryside, and mountains. When we arrived in Vienna we had absolutely no clue how to get to our hotel, so we caved in and took a Taxi (at only 14 euros, it wasn’t such a bad deal)

When we arrived at our hotel I was pretty impressed to say the least. Mishaela’s mom had surprised us by putting us up in Sacher Hotel, located across the street from the Opera House. Walking into the hotel (door opened by a doorman of course) I felt out of place in my ripped jean shorts. While checking in we were given a city map, asked for our bags, and asked if we wanted an international newspaper delivered to our door in the morning.

We were given a tour of the hotel, and then escorted to our room on the fourth floor. Upon entering the room we were greeted with mini chocolate torts, chocolates, and exotic fruit. A chandelier hung from the wall, a comfy double bed, and a shower with two spouts. Needless to say, we were very pleased!

After relaxing a bit and getting cleaned up we went to explore the city center of Vienna. The city is filled with beautiful architecture, not to mention a castle right in the middle of the city. High-class shopping streets were filled with designer brands, including Gucci and Swarovski. We found a nice cafĂ©, and were drawn in by the piano music being played. After our dinner we headed back to the hotel.
I’ve been travelling now for about a week and a half so it was about time I did some laundry. Being too lazy and cheap to find a Laundromat for half a load of clothes I filled the bathtub with water and soap and did the laundry at the hotel. After hanging everything up to dry we climbed into bed to watch the movie Grease.
