Once we finally found our bus station (which happened to have been right in front of the train station) we asked the man at information which platform our bus would arrive at. He pointed us in the direction of platform 14. There we found a sign for a different bus and two other confused people who were in the same situation as us. We returned to the information man who just yelled at us in German and pointed us back to the nonexistent bus. It was at that point that we realized that our bus would not be coming. (Note to self, and anyone who is reading;
never take an Orangeways bus)
We found the next bus driving to Prague (at 9:30), bought
new tickets, and waited two hours for our new bus. The ride to Prague took
around 5 hours, so when we finally got off the bus, we ran past Jiri to get to
the bathrooms. We took the tram to Jiri’s apartment where we changed, dropped
our bags off, and headed to the nearest restaurant. Here we had our first
traditional Czech meal (which seems to mean a lot of meat, and huge portions).
After lunch we stopped by the house to pick up some more of Jiri’s friends, who would join us on a tour of the city. They took us around the city and showed us the Main Square, and Charles Bridge. We ended the night with dinner at a pub. Mishaela and I ordered breaded chicken stuffed with Camembert cheese and pear (again huge portions!) However, the large plates of food did not go to waste with all of the guys (aka. Garbage disposals) we had with us. After dinner we headed back to the house and Mishaela and I went to bed, while the rest stayed up late partying. (Somehow we didn’t hear any of it thankfully!)
